Ken Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund
Why we do this....
The Ken Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund is intended to provide a scholarship program for soccer referees wishing to continue their education. The available funds for scholarships are in direct proportion to the success of our fundraising events. Although soccer players generally have scholarship opportunities from colleges, playing associations and clubs, this is one of the few opportunities specifically intended for the distribution of scholarships to the soccer official.
We began in 2006 with our first scramble which continues today as an annual event each May. Although the previous events have been very successful, we are receiving many more requests for assistance than there are funds available. It is with this in mind, that we partnered with three other charities in 2011 to provide unique events to raise awareness for the scholarship fund. We are asking for your help to ensure the success of future fundraising events, resulting in the enhanced success of the scholarship program.
